Kebocoran Masjid At-Taqwa Miri Masih Belum Dapat Diatasi

Miri At-Taqwa Mosque leakage Still Cannot Be Resolved
MIRI - At-Taqwa mosque located in the city center of Miri is one of the mosque which is quite old and often face the problem of leakage when a rain storm.

We have received complaints from the public who said that the provision for renovations At-Taqwa mosque had been used up but the roof leak problem unresolved until now while refurbishment project has already been expired.

Last year the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui has visited the great mosque of Miri in the process of renovations and he also promised to provide an additional allocation to overcome the problem of the mosque roof leaks.

Prior to this PAS Miri had voiced the problem of Miri At-Taqwa mosque and the answers received somewhat disappointing when the minister in charge of Islamic affairs, said "... no roof leaks occur at the Mosque of Miri and it is still in good condition ... “

We raised the issue of the mosque is to keep the image of Islam and to remind those entrusted to look after the welfare of Muslims in order to provides some comfort and safety to those who use the mosque.

We urge the minister in charge of Sarawak Islamic affairs come visit the mosques in Miri who facing damage and lack of provision so that it is well maintained, especially the mosques in Miri city.

Miri At-Taqwa Mosque is a focal point for tourists from outside and inside for prayers and of course it is the image of Muslims in Miri. If the ministry of Sarawak Islamic affairs did not care for this mosque problem it definitely will give bad impression of the outside when they come to visit the mosque that is not so good and leak as if it were not treated with care

Although At-Taqwa mosque was recently refurbished but the problem of roof leaks will cause carpet in the mosque contaminated with rain water spots due to the mosque roof leaks.

Even if replaced with new carpet it will continue to be contaminated as well as the mosque roof leakage problem has not been fully resolved. Why does this leak problems seem intractable and lasted until now?

We did not blame the management of the mosque, perhaps they have many times expressed these problems to the authorities but because of too much bureaucracy cause is difficult to overcome.

If the minister in charge of Islamic affairs failed to give the provisions of the Miri At-Taqwa mosque, we will launch the Fund for Save Miri At-Taqwa Mosque. We give the period up to the end of May to the ministry in charge of Sarawak Islamic affairs to fulfill their promises to provide an additional allocation to the mosque.

We did not want to see the Miri At-Taqwa mosque marginalized from the mainstream of development, but beautiful and outward looking and filled with religious activities that make people useful and noble character to a perfect human.

Do not the Sarawak Islamic affairs ministry is busy monitoring the movement of the preachers who call people to the right path and seek Allah's pleasure, but neglecting the welfare of Muslims.
