Kenaikan Kadar Denda Keatas Kehilangan MyKad Tidak Realistik

Increase penalty rates on the Losing of MyKad is not realistic

The proposal of the government to increase penalties against individuals who found guilty rid of their MyKad identity card is not very realistic. No one likes it or intentionally gets rid of their MyKad for no particular reason. Do the increase penalty rates against the individual who lost MyKad can solve the problem of the lost thousands of MyKad?

For example, people in rural Sarawak who live far from the city certainly difficult for them to change or make a new MyKad missing. The cost of transportation and their lodging way up to city requires hundreds of ringgit. For the less fortunate they certainly cannot afford to go to the city just to change or make a new MyKad.

Most of losing MyKad of the rural communities according to one of the people who came from the interior of Baram is because of the quality of MyKad before is not very good, easily damaged and finally they throw away just like that because difficult for them to change to the new MyKad as the cost of returning back to the city is so high. He added that among other reasons loss of MyKad of rural communities are drop out or fell into the water when the boat capsized, and so on.

So the government should reconsider the proposal to increase the penalties against individuals who lost MyKad. Hope that this problem should be revised because of all the basic necessities have gone up, the price of petrol rises, the price of sugar goes up and the price of electricity tariffs next year also rose. Indirectly with the rising prices of essential goods and raise fines will only inconvenience and burden the lives of people, especially those with low income and those who are less fortunate.

We do not want the government to punish the people solely to protect the interests of certain parties. The Government should consider the best way to looks after the welfare of the people, not by increasing prices of essential commodities and increase the fine which may or may not solve the problem of the national debt. The government should be responsible for what is happening now is not to burden the lives of the people who have given their trust for them continue to rule the country.

The cost of payment of losing of MyKad for first time now is RM110 consider expensive enough. For the third time will be up to the RM310. For lower income groups and those who cannot afford it is considered expensive. Cooperation with the relevant parties to review the fine on the loss of MyKad is greatly appreciated.
