What has happen to the SARAWAK EC?

State assembly elections nearly a year has passed, but the EC Sarawak is still struggling to return a security deposit for candidates’ posters of RM3, 000 especially to the opposition candidate.

Officer at the District Office when asked, gives variety of reasons like lip, and steeped in bureaucratic hassles.

According to information we received from the Accountant General Department Sarawak Branch, states that account for the EC in Accountant General Department is empty, so they cannot refund the deposit to the candidates until today.

We want to ask the EC Sarawak, what actually happens with the EC in Sarawak until difficult to return a security deposit poster for opposition candidates? What is the agenda behind this turmoil?

If the people are late to pay, would be fine but if the authorities are late to pay to the people, there is no action could be taken. Where is the justice in the management of the authorities?

Does the government has run out of cash savings, or deposit for the candidate, is used for other purposes?
13th GE will occur at any time, then the money should be returned as soon as possible not be kept for other purposes.

According to the information we receive only a few candidates have yet to receive the poster deposit, others have received but a bit slow.

PAS Sarawak urged the Sarawak EC to immediately clear deposits for the poster candidate, which is still pending and do not let until 13th GE held.
