Penduduk Menagih Janji Wakil
Rakyat Untuk Bina Benteng Sungai
MIRI - Pembinaan
usang tetapi sehingga kini tiada sebarang tindakan diambil."
Mereka
menuntut janji wakil rakyat tersebut agar projek pembinaan benteng tebing Sungai
Bakam
perlu disegerakan.
dilaksanakan.

It often
happens when it rains heavily and continued for hours the occurrence of flash
floods in low areas and along river banks. Flash floods and no fortress barrier
on the river banks of Bakam River causing the houses near the river bank almost
collapsed from the flooding and soil erosion.
Recent
flash floods on the banks of Bakam River that had caused the villagers houses,
who live on the river banks, nearly collapsed as a result of torrent and no
embankment on the river banks.
According
to the villagers, Mariam Raup and Fatimah Amit who are victims of flash floods on
the banks of Bakam
River said "There used to come YB promise to build the embankment of the
river and help them rebuild their kitchen that is increasingly obsolete, but so
far no action has been taken."
They
demanded the elected representatives promise that the construction of Bakam River
embankments need expedited. They also demanded that their kitchen problems that
the ramshackle also need to be rebuilt.
