Bajet 2013 Tidak Mesra Rakyat, Harga Rumah Masih Mahal
Budget 2013 Not People Friendly, House Prices Still Expensive
The house prices in Sarawak for example are too expensive for small and medium-income groups. Yet the house is already small size and narrow, the price also did not match the quality of the house.
To get low-cost or below RM200K now is too difficult even if there is any the house is quite small and cramped is not suitable for a family.
The government should be concerned of this people's problems seriously, not only benefited to one party only. The developer may be forced to increase prices due to higher house tax or other charge imposed by the government that resulting the house prices becomes expensive.
Should the government can control of this from the start before giving permission to the developer or project to develop a residential area. The conditions such as giving priority to buyers that annual income is less than 60K below to get low and medium cost houses by the price below 200K.
The government could give priority to the people of small and medium-income groups by building more medium-cost houses which more comfortable such as the time Tun Rahman ruled Sarawak where the people at least get lots of residential which is quite comfortable for a family. Currently, the government are more concerned with the developers from the people by building a house that is too expensive and difficult for ordinary people to have it.
In the past wooden houses but home site is quite broad and they are given lot. Despite a modest wooden house but they have lots of wider land if compared to the state housing area now narrow and compact. Maybe now wooden houses are quite expensive but an important residential area there must be space for gardening and so on.
People in Sarawak should be given every 1 lot of housing that they live more comfortable and not too heavy. Sarawak has large area of land. Sarawak should have no problem to build each house in each lot not like now, a lot of terraced houses and flats which are not very suitable for a big family.
The home conditions which are small and compact can cause an uncomfortable situation for the people that live in a residential area, and this can cause social problems.
We urge the government to review the present housing system particularly in Sarawak so that it is affordable and comfortable place to stay for all ages, regardless of race and religion. The government should give priority to the welfare and comfort of people's lives not only concerned with the capitalists that only think about profit alone.
