Lack of infrastructure and Upgrading of Jalan Kampung Batu 8 is Not Completed

LAMBIR – The road of Kampung Usaha Jaya Batu 8 at the Miri Bintulu road which is located approximately 10 kilometers from Miri city center is still not fully grouted causing the village access roads are badly damaged.  Residents of the Kampung Usaha Jaya Batu 8 complained that they had been waiting for fully grouted road to their village, but until now the road is still perforated and badly damaged, especially during the rainy season.

Although there is signboard showing on Basic Infrastructure Project (PIAS) was carried out in 2012 in the village but the problem of the upgrading of roads in the village has not been completed. The matter has been going on and this is a problem that is often a question of villagers why the parties concerned of the road project is not completed entirely to their villages.

An irregular drainage conditions, uneven roads and there was a puddle, should not happen if the village roads duly executed by the parties concerned.

The other thing that is very important for the villagers is clean water and electricity that not yet connected to the rest of the house of the villagers of Usaha Jaya Batu 8. According to one of the residents in the village who do not want to be named said only part of the villagers that received clean water supply and electricity while residents who live far in the village had not received such infrastructure facilities.

After BN achieved great success in the past 13GE and government promises to fulfill every promise, should be the problem of infrastructure and the upgrading of roads in the area can be addressed and given priority as the population in the area has given strong support to the BN government.

Why is the problem of roads in Sarawak still being an issue when billions of ringgit allocation is given by the Federal Government over the years? Where the budget allocation of the road goes is used?

With the provisions of 2014 budget for the building of infrastructure and repair the village roads, supposed the problem of village roads in Kampung Batu 8 and also other rural roads which facing similar problems can be resolved quickly. With the availability of basic amenities like water, electricity and good roads at least it will provide facilities to the residents who commute to the city with a more safer and comfortable.

We urge the authorities to take note and act quickly to overcome the problem of this people regardless of race, religion and political affiliation. Cooperation with relevant parties is highly appreciated.
