Infrastructure and Local Population Problems without Birth Certificate Still Occur In Sarawak

NIAH - Rumah Mandau Sekerat Kampung Iran, located in Sibuti Parliamentary. Most of the residents are farmers and working with private companies. The journey from Miri city takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Recently we made a visit to the Rh Mandau to survey the living conditions of the community there.
Generally, the residents live in peace, but there are some issues that should be noted by the government, namely the problem of clean water supply and also the problem of their lands been invaded by plantation companies.

They have been applying for clean water to their homes, but until now the problem has yet to be resolved.
They only get water from the tank and the nearby river but the river water is also contaminated with impurities as a result of waste from oil palm plantations nearby.

They hope the government can solve the problem of water supply and also their land issues immediately.

Besides, there is also a family problem which his child did not get a birth certificate caused his wife are not locals. Jusing Ak Gum a complainant has several times come to the National registry in Miri to get birth certificates and MyKad his eldest son, but to date has yet to receive a positive response from the authorities.
He has two children, where the youngest daughter was getting a birth certificate, perhaps because his youngest child was born in Malaysia. He hoped the problem of his son, who does not have a birth certificate, can be resolved immediately.

We urge that the government is able to perform the duties of the trust, honesty and fairness to all regardless of race, religion and political affiliation, because each of them is part of Malaysians, legitimate and should be a priority.
